Michael Johansson makes site-specific installations made up of objects that he finds at the location where he creates the work. To create Achive, he searched the secret hiding places at the Gothenburg Museum of Art and received permission to use old drawer units, packing boxes, archive cabinets, binders, telephones, and so on. These objects have been installed with millimeter precision in two arches in one of the stairwells of the museum. The site-specific work reveals the museum’s memory and hidden work processes, at the same time as it changes the perception of the room.
