Jonathan Josefsson (born 1978) has his artistic roots in graffiti culture, where as Ollio he made a considerable impression on the public for almost a decade. After studying at the School of Design and Crafts in Gothenburg, he continued to experiment with materials and forms, and developed his painting by turning to textiles. His idiom is often characterized by a playful flood of geometric shapes and figures. Rug No. 83 (2010), like his graffiti, offers a stark contrast to its surrounding environment, and grows organically out of the Sculpture Hall’s architecture to »infect« the room.
