Eva Brodin’s series of five images shows folded-up parasols in different light and weather conditions. She calls them portraits, and their portrait-like character is reinforced by the oval format. Her painting technique is simple, with flowing brush strokes. The parasols appear to us as characters, almost living figures. Brodin’s work sheds light on everyday objects and the secrets they hide. Eva Brodin studied at Valand Academy in Gothenburg and works as a teacher at the Gothenburg School of Art.
