In the series Black Bubbles, Lars Arrhenius returns to the comic strip format after years of working with animations and computer-generated imagery. However, the expression is the same: in a stripped-down imagery we encounter individuals who inhabit parallel worlds in society. In the series, which was published in book format in 2011, the viewer is presented with glimpses of people’s nocturnal lives. The speech balloons cover everything from sleepless thoughts and inquisitive children’s talk to quarrels between married couples.
