Nils Ryndel was born in Vänersborg. In 1947, he presented a licentiate’sthesis on impressionism at the Gothenburg College. In the same year he was employed as an assistant at Gothenbrurg Museum of Art, where he became a curator in 1954. Apart from his contribution as a curator, Ryndel was also an artist, but exhibited chiefly after his retirement in 1982. Mirroring 2 is characterized by a concretist interplay between brightly coloured surfaces. The paint is liberally applied, in order to animate the schematic composition. The motif is reflected between the two halves of the painting.
